What to Expect

Connemara and parts of Mayo are popular, yet relatively unexplored part of Ireland. During this workshop we will hit the hotspots but we will also explore lesser parts of the West. We will shoot sunrises and sunsets everyday should the weather allow.. Sunrise this time of the year is 5.30am and sunset is 9.30pm. Each morning after sunrise, we will go back to the hotel for breakfast. These will be long days so after breakfast we will have periods of rest to recharge for the days ahead. As the days are long we will also have opportunities to work on some post processing of our images so if you have laptops, do bring them. The workshop will commence at 4pm on the 18th and finish at 11am on Saturday the 21st.

During the day we will also stop for lunch, coffees and cakes. There is some fantastic spots dotted along our routes.

We will spend our entire stay at Peacockes Hotel, Maam Cross. Peacockes is in the heart of Connemara with many of our locations only 10-15 minutes drive away. Each person will have their own room, which includes breakfast every morning after we shoot sunrise. The hotel is also equipped with a bar and cosy restaurant. I will be there to check us into the hotel at 2pm and the Workshop will commence at 4pm so if you can arrive in between those times.

Transportation

Once you make your way to Connemara, to our accommodation, you will not have to drive for the rest of the tour as we take you around in our fully insured and spacious luxury 9 seater mini bus, which comes fully air-conditioned, with power points for charging all phones and cameras.

Weather

Ireland isn’t exactly known for its sunny weather, but what it can be known for is the amazing light, stormy seas and moody clouds. No matter what the weather, you can be sure we are in the right part of the country to capture what ever mood is thrown at us. As the weather is so unpredictable in Ireland its impossible to set out a definite itinerary until we actually start the workshop, I will however be keeping a very very close eye on the weather throughout the day to make sure I get you in the right place, at the right time, for the right light.

Locations

During this workshop we will visit amazing mountainous lakes, beaches, waterfalls, rivers and forests. The West has it all!!

As they say “West is Best”
