What to Expect

The Copper coast is an amazing place to shoot seascapes, especially in Winter, as the sun rises to the south East (8am) and sets to the south West (4,30pm). This workshop will be based between Ballydwan and Kilfarrasy beaches, and we will shoot sunirse to sunset with some lunch in between. These two beaches have fantastic sea stack structures and rock formations to shoot when the tide is right, with amazing compositions for sunrise and sunset. I want the participants of this workshop to get close to the water and feel the drama of the sea and capture the mood of the day. We will start the workshop at 7.15am in Kilfarrasy, 45 minutes before sunrise, just in case we get some pre sunrise colour.

As this is a long exposure workshop, ND filters are essential, if you need to purchase or advice on buying filters, email me at bernard@bglandscapetours.ie. I am a brand ambassador for Formatt-Hitech Filters and my 10% discount code is bern10 at www.formattihitech.com.

Once we meet for the start of the workshop at Kilfarrasy beach, you can leave your car there and travel with me to Ballydwan beach and you will be dropped back to your car at the end of the workshop. Should you require transport from the Red Cow luas stop in Dublin for an extra cost of €15, I will be doing a pick up there at 5am. Email me at bernard@bglandscapetours.ie to arrange this.

Transportation

Once you make your way to the Copper Coast you will not have to drive for the rest of the tour as we take you around in our fully insured and spacious luxury 9 seater mini bus, which comes fully air-conditioned, with power points for charging all phones and cameras.

Weather

Ireland isn’t exactly known for its sunny weather, but what it can be known for is the amazing light, stormy seas and moody clouds make no mistake about it, it could be cold and breezy but it could also be mild and beautiful. No matter what the weather, you can be sure we are in the right part of the country to capture what ever mood is thrown at us. As the weather is so unpredictable in Ireland its impossible to set out a definite itinerary until we actually start the workshop, I will however be keeping a very very close eye on the weather throughout the day to make sure I get you in the right place, at the right time, for the right light.
