What to Expect

We will spend our 3 nights of the workshop in the beautiful Radisson Blu, Letterkenny. This will include single occupancy rooms with breakfast included. The hotel also has an amazing restaurant with a wide range of food to choose from including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. You will also have full access to the leisure centre and gym facilities.

Depending on weather, you can expect to shoot sunrise and sunset everyday during the workshop. After each morning sunrise we will take a couple of hours break and aim to be back out shooting around midday, this will give us about 8 or 9 hours shooting each day, depending on weather. During potentially bad weather, we can also catch up on some post processing.

We will begin the workshop at 2pm on Thursday March 17th and it will end at 2pm on Sunday March 20th.

Please note: Should Covid19 prevent us from running this workshop, we will reschedule or you will be issued with an online voucher for the full amount paid, including deposit to use on any future tour or workshop.

Weather

Sunrise 6.30am

Sunset 6.40pm

Ireland isn’t exactly known for its sunny weather, but what it can be known for is the amazing light, stormy seas and moody clouds. No matter what the weather, you can be sure we are in the right part of the country to capture what ever mood is thrown at us. As the weather is so unpredictable in Ireland its impossible to set out a definite itinerary until we actually start the workshop, I will however be keeping a very very close eye on the weather throughout the day to make sure I get you in the right place, at the right time, for the right light.

Locations

Fanad Lighthouse

You will learn about shooting in manual mode, slow shutter speed, ISO settings, Aperture priority, the use of filters, why the polariser filter is so important and learning to get the best compositions (thinking outside the box)

Why book with us?

YES YES, The rumours are true… We do have a knack of getting our groups in the right place at the right time, ensuring you capture a truly memorable shot you can cherish for the rest of your life. To us, capturing “the shot” is important but just as important is to enjoy the experience, when we get to a location take a minute to breath in the fresh air and really appreciate the views around us.

When you book a trip with us, you get to sit back and relax. while we do all the driving. For our Irish workshops we have our very own Volkswagen 9 seater shuttle bus. The bus is a long wheel base, full air conditioned, extremely spacious and has ample USB charging points. On our tours abroad we also mostly book 9 seater buses and with groups no bigger than 5 or 6, ensures plenty of space and comfort!
