What to Expect
Day 1: Arrival in El Calafate by mid afternoon. Meet and greet then we will make our way to Perito Moreno Glacier to shoot ice calvings and sunset. We will then return to El Calafate for the night.
Day 2:Early morning departure (about 8am) to Chile. The drive is approximately 5 hours to Puerto Natales. We will stop here for and get any food, drink or hiking gear for the National Park (Its much cheaper to buy food & drink outside the National Park). After lunch we will drive out to Torres Del Paine National Park where we will spend a few days, shooting sunset the evening we arrive.
Day3-6: The following days we will aim to get to the best places for sunrise along the trail to Mirador Cuernos, Salto Grande, the many compositions along Lake Pehoe and many others. These will be determined depending on weather conditions.
Day 7: After sunrise in the morning and breakfast at the hotel, we will pack up and go back to Argentina. This time we will bypass El Calafate and go straight for the hiking capital of Argentina, El Chalten. We will aim to arrive here by the afternoon. We will then get to see the famous Cerro Torreand Cerro Fitzroy skyline that is synonymous with Patagonia.
Day 8-12: The following days we will base ourselves in El Chalten. Every night we have a hotel booked for your comfort. However, some of the best locations are 8-12km on trail from the town so if conditions allow, we will pack our hiking gear and head out along the trails to shoot Fitzroy from Laguna Sucia, Laguna De Las Tres, a very secret waterfall and various other cascades. On the other side of the park we can go up to Loma Del Piliegue Tumbado or to Laguna Torre in search of frozen foregrounds, cascades and the impressive peak of Cerro Torre.
Day 13: On the last day we will endeavour to get out and shoot in the morning. If the conditions are great we can hike the 5km to shoot the waterfalls at Fitzroy. After that we will return to pack and check out of the hotel. The drive back to El Calafate airport is 2 hours, you will be dropped back here and the Photo Tour will end.
