I wanted to photograph dramatic cliffs and wild ocean in Ireland but I didn't know a good landscape photographer. Bernard was recommended by a good Scottish friend. What a gift it was to work with Bernard for three dramatic days. He knew exactly where to take me for the shots I was looking for and his over-the-shoulder camera setting tips were invaluable. Plus we had many an hour at the end of the day to share flat whites and wonderful stories. I've got to figure out where he is going next and how I can join him, Thanks so much, Bernard.
This has been my 4th workshop with Bernard. I think this says enough that you'll always come back for more. His ability to read the weather and he gets it right all the time. Met Éireann should take weather advice from him.
Bernard is always on hand for advice and tips no matter what level you are at. He will always make sure you get your shot. He's mad as a brush but that all adds to the trip. Don't delay book your trip. Thanks again Bernard. Great trip away.
Last weekend I went on a photo tour in Dingle. It was great!
We were lucky with the weather and spent the whole day on the beach practicing with camera settings and hunting for our star shot:)
The view was amazing.
Bernard took us to places I would never have guessed on my own. This is my second tour and like then there were nice people, good vibe, easy and relaxed atmosphere.
If you want to break out of your routine and recharge your batteries then such trips are one of the best ways.
This was the first workshop I’ve ever attended and I am delighted I finally signed up. I didn’t feel that I could attend previously as I lacked some photography equipment in my current kit, but after a quick email to Bernard he was more than happy to help and kindly gave me a loan of what I needed on the day. I was particularly impressed with his creativeness and ability to read the changing weather. He always had us in the right location and I’ve picked up an abundance of new tips that I can’t wait to try out and practice for myself. I came away from the day after learning new techniques, making new connections with other photographers and an eagerness to progress my skills further. Bernard is so approachable and no question is too big or small. He is an excellent teacher and an all round great guy!
Just back from another awesome workshop with Bernard. This time to Dingle and it did not disappoint! The locations around Kerry are stunning, but it’s Bernard’s knack for judging the location and the weather, to get you that bit extra that I just know I just wouldn’t get on my own. I appreciate how he shares his knowledge, will go the extra mile to make sure you get the absolute best out of the shoot and always keeps things fun while passing on the nuggets of photography wisdom!
I’m looking forward to the next one already!
This was my first time attending a workshop and what can i say other than wow !
I was very familiar already with all the locations that Bernard brought us to which i believe emphasised how good a tutor he actually is !
The subtle differences in his approach to a scene and his keen eye for nailing a composition really were highlighted to me on Sunday.
In the company of like minded people I had a wonderful day in west Kerry and came away from there feeling inspired and educated.
Bernard really goes the extra mile in his workshops and pushes you that extra inch to capture something truly wonderful.
I highly recommend anyone else thinking about joining him on a workshop to just book it and let Bernard take care of the rest .
Thanks again and I will certainly see you again in the future for more workshops .
Its hard to describe how Epic this trip was. I have been on many trips with Bernard but this was definitely my favorite. We arrived in Ruka, northern Finland in January during the coldest weather experienced there in 40 years. With temperatures up to - 30, with Bernards enthusiasm and personality we got to enjoy every minute despite the cold. From standing on a frozen lake in pitch dark shooting the aurora to climbing through a forest for sunrise with a windchill of -50, the craic was epic. Having hot toddy's in a toasty log hut after 4 hours in frozen forests to great coffee in wonderful cafes by the ski slopes, from fabulous Pizza restaurants to takeaway meals by the log fire in the winter cabin. We even had toboggan races at the accommodation. . Great craic, great food , great company and a great guide who will always go the extra mile or 200 for his clients. If you are still not sure weather you should book or not, just do it. I promise you will not be disappointed and will most likely become one of the very many repeat customers Bernard has built up over the years.
I just attended this two day photography workshop with Bernard and all I can say is it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The workshop was packed to the brim with challenges that pushed my photography skills to new heights, and Bernard's guidance throughout the process was great.
Despite the unpredictable weather and varying light conditions, Bernard excelled at helping us navigate these challenges, turning potential frustrations into learning opportunities. His expertise and passion for photography truly inspired me, and I left feeling more confident and skilled .
The accommodations that he picked was fabulous, and the hotel provided the perfect start , the food was amazing and the staff were so nice and helpful.
Bernard also organized some unique and delightful food stops that kept us energized and very satisfied throughout the workshop.
The workshop is more than a workshop, its an experience that offers a wealth of photography knowledge, stunning views and like minded people and a bit of crack.
If you are like me sitting on the fence , over thinking going on such a trip then please take this review as your opportunity to take part in one of Bernard's workshops, I promise you , you will not regret one minute of it. You will be brimming with all the photography insights you can absorb, alongside great food and plenty of fun!
As always Bernard pays attention to his clients ensuring everyone gets his time. he will provide tips on composition and settings at every location. Ireland being as unpredictable as it is, Bernard didn't let the weather turn the trip into a washout, instead he took us to a different location ensuring that we had a full day of shooting at a variety of locations with great coffee and lunch throughout the day. As always he's om hand to offer advice on camera and travel kit. I highly recommend his tours and will be booking a third trip soon,
This was my first trip with Bernard and I haven’t say it was a brilliant experience, he is an excellent guide and his knowledge on all aspects of photography is second to none. He is very generous with his time when it comes to less experienced photographers and he makes everyone feel at ease despite their ability. Can’t wait to book again!
