Workshop: Tory Island and Donegal Coast

This trip was amazing. The spectacular viewpoints that Bernard brought us to would never have been found if I was on my own. But above all the big difference between this trip and others I’ve been on was Bernard himself.

His skill in reading weather conditions is spooky, one might think he had a direct line with the almighty. The craic we had in the van, on location and after the shoots in the pub was fantastic and the body was sore from laughter every day.

The accommodation was well sourced and very comfortable. Having Bernard chauffeur us around the hills and byways of Donegal was a treat. I would highly recommend going on a trip with Bernard particularly in Ireland as our beautiful island has so much to offer us photographers.

Workshop: Tory Island

Ricently back from fantastic trip to Tory Island: landscape photography with Bernard.

Great time!
Shortly after arriving on the island and having a snack, we went to the location to get prepared for the sunset shots.
Bernard was very helpful, he shared his tips and gave me advice on conposition, camera settings, how to use filters. He also had spare equipment for us 🙂

The vibe was great!
Most of the participant in our group knew each other from previous workshops with Bernard and yet the newcomers felt very comforable, as if they also knew everyone:)

Highly recommended.
You are garanted to be taken to a stunning lokations with proffecional guidance on landscape phorograpgy!
It's not just about shots.....if you need to get away and recharge your batteries this is the best way to do it.
Thank you Bernard!
Wish you all the best and hope to take another workshop sometime in nearest future 🙂

Workshop: Donegal / Tory

We had a great weekend with Bernard recently.
Beautiful Donegal did not let us down whilst Tory Island was just amazing to take in and photograph.

Be it early starts or late nights Bernard will do what has to be done to chase the light to enable us to capture epic shots.
Bernard’s workshops are also great craic, this weekend some of the group arrived as strangers but we all left as friends due to the laughs we had.

Workshop: Tory Island

I'm just back from another very enjoyable photography trip with Bernard.
We spent three days on Tory Island which I've discovered is one of his favourite places in the world. While there we we had great fun and craic exploring the island and what it had to offer.. It also became obvious that Bernard was well known and liked by a number of the Islanders.
To summarise, Berard is a very knowledgeable, passionate and considerate photogapher and loves to impart this knowledge with the people he's with, so you get the best out of of any location you visit.
He's a guy that's passionate about his photograpy and life.

Workshop: Tory Island July 24

I’ve just returned from a fabulous weekend workshop on Tory Island, Ireland.

Bernard showed his usual high energy and enthusiasm heighten by his love for Tory Island! He did a great job taking us to stunning locations and calling it right on where the light might land between rain showers.

He managed the trip well setting the right pace in what were long days given early sunrises and late sunsets. He made helpful suggestions on compositions at each location, and if asked, provided usual feedback and suggestions to improve shots. He also worked with each of the group depending on their experience and requests for input. He also suggested some locations for some of us to go to before and after the workshop.

As always there was great fun and a lot of laughs throughout the trip and the odd medicinal pint.

Highly recommended

Workshop: Isle of Skye

I've just returned from Bernard’s workshop on the Isle of Skye and Glencoe recently. This is the first time I've been on one of his trips and have to say he was brilliant. I found him very enthusiastic and full of energy, very keen to ensure everyone on the trip had a great time, and we did. Bernard managed to keep us all in suspense at the end of our day by not revealing the following day's sunrise location until he was satisfied conditions were right. He wanted to make sure we got the most out of that location once we arrived there. He was very happy sharing tips on compositions etc, for us to get the most out of the shot. One of the many highlights was a boat trip out of Portree to photograph White Tailed Eagles, it was an amazing experience. Between seascape, landscape and wildlife it was a fantastic trip. I can't recommend Bernard highly enough, so much so I've booked another couple of trips with him this year and next.. Roll on our next adventure..

Workshop: Isle of Skye

First photography trip , what an amazing experience. Fantastic scenery , company and craic from start to finish. Bernard was excellent with me , he was very helpful with explanations and tips. He is so well organised and plans the locations at the right times. He’s a great driver and picks the best locations for coffee and food. It was a great few days in great company of other photographers. I’d highly recommend..

Workshop: Senja Workshop

I knew I was in for a treat on this workshop as I’ve been on a couple before with Bernard and he had extolled the beauty of Senja from the first day I met him. What I wasn’t prepared for was the magical start to our adventure! As we drove to Senja, we passed a reindeer farm and as we ooed and aawed, Bernard turned around, found the road to the farm for us to see and photograph them. Not only that, he negotiated with the owners to get us in and we got to spend time with the reindeer and feed them. There is honestly nothing this man won’t do to ensure his clients have the best experience.
Bernard’s passion for photography and for the beauty of the location is infectious. We shot great locations with great light every day, not because Bernard had a prescribed list of places to see each day, rather because he was constantly checking the weather and light conditions. He is the consummate professional and it was lovely to see the respect and esteem he holds with his fellow photographer guides when we met them out and about.
We had the best of craic too – sing songs, slagging, beers in the hot tub, snow fights, sliding down the mountain, great coffees and movies on the TV. Bernard is always good humoured and kept the tempo upbeat all the time, though at times he must have been exhausted with all the driving, teaching and generally looking out for us.
If you want the experience of a lifetime, treat yourself to one of Bernard’s workshops. You won’t regret it – you will learn so much about photography and yourself and you will make friends for life. The whole experience is addictive and let’s face it, this is probably the only addiction anyone is comfortable admitting to!!
Can’t wait for my next 2 fixes in 2024!

Workshop: Iceland

What an experience. As someone new to photography I went on this trip with other photographers and highly recommend others to do the same. Met some great people on this trip and big thanks to Bernard for his patience in helping me get compositions & tech info too. Came home with lots of great photos and even better memories. Bernard pulled out everything in his locker to get us to 3 wonderful nights of Aurora. He really exceeded my expectations and ensured the group got what they came for and more. And what better way to travel the highlands than in a Defender - was unreal!!!
Cheers again Bernard and see you on the next trip.
