Benro kindly sent me two carbon fibre tripods and two ball heads a couple of months ago, the Mach 3 38cl & the new Rhino FRHN34C tripods and the G2 and GX35 Ball Heads.

Rather than sit down and waffle on my own about them, I decided to draft in my good pal and Irish Photography Podcast host Darren J Spoonley in to give me a grilling on them.

I am delighted to have the one and only Mads Peter Iversen join me on this episode. Mads is a person I have followed for a long time now, first coming across his work on YouTube. I sat down this week and talked with my good pal and Canon EOS R shooter Keith Arkins to talk about my experience shooting with Canons latest beast the R5. Canon Ireland were good enough to let me have the R5 with some amazing RF lenses, the 15-35, 24-70 and the 70-200. I had the gear for 5 days, shooting in Wicklow for a day and Connemara for 4 days with plenty of different scenes to test its weather sealing and most of all dynamic range! In this episode I’m having a chat with good friends, Darren J Spoonley and Diarmuid O Donovan, the hosts of The Irish Photography Podcast. I spent plenty of episodes being asked the questions with the lads on the IPP, this time it was my turn to ask the questions. As well as being good pals, Darren is arguably Ireland’s most consistent vlogger, while DOD dips in and out of the vlogs, mixing them with time-lapse and great energy.

Friday 9pm we hit the road for a last minute few days in Donegal, Saturday night/Sunday morning at 3am we’re back home in Dublin. What was supposed to be a few days ended up being just over 24 hours, why??? You best listen, we had it all planned, Cloud inversions, Sunrises, sunsets and camping!!

I have a wedding photographer on the podcast, a WEDDING photographer!! Mike is your regular Storm Chasing, wedding photographer.

so, there’s a new low light beast in town… The Sony a7siii

Given the nature of their work and the fact they already shoot with the Sony a7s and A7sii I was delighted to have Adrien and Alyn on the @bgphotopod again talking to me about the newly announced a7siii. For anyone on the fence about this camera there’s probably not two better guys placed than these to give an opinion on it especially if your into astro photography, night time vlogging or time-lapsing the night sky

I was super excited when Jenifer agreed to come onto the podcast. Jenifer is a renowned, UK based  photographer and personally one of my favourite seascape photographers. On this episode she talks us through how photography has been around her from a very young age, helping her dad who himself was a photographer. What impresses me most about Jenifers work is that she currently doesn’t even live by the sea! Her ability to capture light, mood and motion is spectacular and just from hearing her speak I have no doubt she will inspire others to get out and shoot some dramatic seascapes.
