What to Expect

We will spend our entire stay in The Glenmalure Lodge, nestled away in the heart of Irelands longest glacial valley, tucked away in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains. It will be single occupancy stay, including breakfast. The Lodge also has an absolutely amazing bar and restaurant, with the best food around. There is also a chance of a mini shindig in the evenings.

Each day we can get breakfast in the lodge in the morning after sunrise and dinner in the evenings after sunset. During the day we can get lunch and snacks wherever is closest to us.

Depending on weather, you can expect to shoot sunrise and sunset everyday during the workshop. After each morning sunrise we will take a couple of hours break, this will give us about 8 or 9 hours shooting each day, depending on weather. During potentially bad weather, we can also catch up on some post processing but with Wicklow, rain means more water in the falls!

We will begin the workshop at 2pm on Thursday March 23rd and it will end at 2pm on Saturday March 25th, if sunset potential is good for the last day, I will be happy to continue until then.

Please note
We can arrange twin or double rooms should you want to book as friends or a couple and get a discounted rate (€50 off)

Transportation

You have TWO choices

Our meeting point will be The Glenmalure Lodge, Wicklow at 2pm on March 23rd. From there you can relax and let me take the driving from here in our fully insured and spacious luxury 9 seater mini bus, which comes fully air-conditioned, with power points for charging all phones and cameras.

Weather

Sunrise 6.20am

Sunset 6.45pm

Ireland isn’t exactly known for its sunny weather, but what it can be known for is the amazing light, stormy seas and moody clouds. No matter what the weather, you can be sure we are in the right part of the country to capture what ever mood is thrown at us. As the weather is so unpredictable in Ireland its impossible to set out a definite itinerary until we actually start the workshop, I will however be keeping a very very close eye on the weather throughout the day to make sure I get you in the right place, at the right time, for the right light.

Locations

Glendalough
